Founded in March 2017 by Morris Anderson (and later joined by siblings Peter and Cynthia), GS Retrofit began with a straightforward goal: to be the most reliable and professional retrofit inspection company for the Greater Los Angeles real estate community.
What started as an assignment in a computer programming class quickly turned into a thriving retrofit inspection service. After Morris launched the first website, inspection requests began to trickle in—and the rest is history.
Our Story
Over the years, GS Retrofit has grown into a true family business. Today, the Andersons combine their diverse expertise to provide seamless, dependable service to homeowners, agents, and escrow officers across Los Angeles.
Morris Anderson (Founder & Operations) – With a 25-year background as a real estate broker, salesperson, mortgage broker, and loan originator, Morris understands the fast-paced needs of the real estate and escrow community. As founder, he oversees administration and operations, ensuring every retrofit inspection is handled with professionalism and efficiency.
Peter Anderson (Field Manager) – After a 20-year career in corporate America, Peter joined the company to manage the field inspection team. He ensures every licensed retrofitter is properly supported, trained, and equipped to perform retrofit inspections and installations that meet Los Angeles City compliance requirements.
Cynthia Anderson (Scheduling & Client Care) – Cynthia came aboard in 2019 and is the go-to person for handling inspection requests and scheduling. With 5 years as a mortgage loan processor and 15 years as an escrow officer, she brings a deep understanding of real estate transactions, ensuring every inspection is coordinated smoothly and on time.
Together, the Andersons have built GS Retrofit into one of Los Angeles's most trusted retrofit inspection companies, known for honesty, reliability, and family-oriented service.
What We Do
GS Retrofit specializes in retrofit inspections and installations for homes in the City of Los Angeles and nearby areas. Our licensed retrofitters provide fast, thorough inspections—often the same day or within 24 hours.
- We check and install all items required for City of Los Angeles retrofit compliance, including:
- Water conservation devices
- Seismic gas shutoff valves (our signature service)
- Metal bar safety release latches
- Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
- Impact glazing
- Proper water heater strapping and components
